How to create a Happy Day,
Everyday... Guaranteed!

It is probably safe to assume that you want a happy life, right?

Then, it just makes sense that if we want a happy life, we have to live happy days!

Now this is a little different than what you will read in other organizing books. For example, I am not going into "time management" techniques or what day planner works best. I am simply going to walk you through a process of being mindful and bringing in elements that are often overlooked in our day.

This collection comes from many books I have read and seminars I have attended. Today they are grouped together in one place so you can experience the ultimate power and the most happy day possible.

Express gratitude

Expressing gratitude helps you see the good that is already happening in your life.

Before you get out of bed in the morning, write down at least 3 things you are grateful for. It can be as simple as "the sun is out." Or, if you are overwhelmed by all the stuff in your life, you can be grateful that you realize that it is too much, or for the abundance you have right now.

You can always find something to be grateful for, you may have to dig a bit at first.

Top 3 things to accomplish

After you have come up with your gratitude list, choose 3 things you will accomplish today. (yes, only 3.)

By having one that makes you happy, one that makes you healthy, and one that makes you wealthy is a sure-fire way to create balance in your day....and ultimately your life.

I am sure you can come up with ideas for happy and healthy, but do you find you get stuck on wealthy?

Let's think about this for a moment. Although most people think wealth=money, it can also include all the ways we feel abundant. Maybe it is connecting with a friend, volunteering, or experiencing guilt-free leisure. It can even include high quality work on a project or getting creative about ways to bring in more monetary wealth into your life. Remember it is how you define wealth that matters.

When you come up with your list, it is extremely important to choose wisely. Keeping agreements we make with ourselves is a huge part of feeling good and happy.

So, what are you really able to commit to today?

Brighten someone's day

There is something very powerful in giving. Go out of your way to find opportunities to make a difference in someone's day. You can give someone a compliment, send an unexpected and heartfelt card, or other random acts of kindness. It is when we are open to seeing how we can make a difference in someone's life that we are able to take advantage of them.

You can either write down your experiences as they happen or at the end of the day. This list will bring a smile to your heart every time you look at it.

Celebrate your successes

If what we focus on expands, then it would be a good idea to focus on our successes. Again, some days may have smaller successes--"I went to bed before 10:30" or "I let go of 5 books." That's okay. The important thing is to start pulling out the successes that happen in your day and to acknowledge them! Any and all successes are worthy of being on this list.

This is a great exercise to do before bed since it provides a nice way to have closure to your day.
